A Wolverhampton businessman has safeguarded 35 jobs after buying a Black Country hotel out of administration.

Gurjit Mahal, a Wolverhampton businessman, bought The Ramada Birmingham Hotel and Conference Centre in Oldbury for an undisclosed fee.

The hotel is the third from the Fortmere Group after David Bennett and Joe McLean of Grant Thornton UK LLP were appointed as its administrators.

Mr Bennett said: “We are delighted to have sold the Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre, which is well situated for corporate, tourist and event trade. It is particularly pleasing to sell the hotel to a local entrepreneur who will take the business forward into the future.”
