Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill has been linked with interest in Newcastle United winger James Milner.
Milner, 22, is thought to be on his way out of Tyneside in a deal worth around £7 million although Magpies’ boss Kevin Keegan is trying to prise nearer £9 million out of suitors for the young England star.
Villa have used a raft of players on thr right inlcuing Gabriel Agbonlahor and John Carew and Ashley Young who switched from time to tiem from the left flank.
Milner has played with Young and Agbonlahor with England Under 21s and also spent a happy loan spell at Villa three seasons ago before being hauled back to Newcastle after a permanent deal fell through at the 11th hour.
