Insects which usually make their home on the south coast have succumbed to the allure of suburban Solihull, researchers have found.
Two kinds of bushcricket, previously only found along the south coast, have been found in the borough for the first time.
Roesel's Bushcricket and the Long-Winged Conehead were both found by one of Solihull Council's park rangers while working in some of the borough's parks.
The Roesel's Bushcricket, which is green and brown with a short fat body and long back legs, was spotted in Lavender Hall Park in Balsall Common and in Hillfields Park.
The Long-Winged Cone-head, which is bright green with long, brown antennae, was found in Brueton Park.
