Horse and pony owners across Shropshire and bordering counties are being encouraged to support a new sale at Shrewsbury Auction Centre later this month.
Halls Auctioneers, who run the new market, are holding an inaugural auction of horses, ponies, saddlery, tack and associated vehicles on July 27, starting at 11am.
The sale is the brainchild of Halls director James Evans, who said he was keen to make full use of the excellent facilities at the auction centre.
"As a result of the boom in the number of people moving to Shropshire and Mid Wales to take up equine leisure pursuits, we believe there is a growing market for this type of auction," said Mr Evans.
"We are keen to receive entries from across Shrop-shire, bordering counties and Wales. The sale will included warranted and unwarranted horses, ranging from foals and ponies to thoroughbreds and hunters.
"We aim to hold a further sale in the autumn with the possibility of holding monthly auctions thereafter, dependent on demand."
Halls is aiming for an entry of at least 100 horses and ponies and 600 lots of tack, including horse rugs, clothing, riding accessories, horse trailers, lorries and equestrian associated vehicles.
