Shane Hill will remember his Halesowen Town debut with fondness after hitting the target in a vital 2-1 win at Brackley Town.

The Yeltz had feared it was going to be one of those days when Brackley struck against the run of play for Tom Winters to ram home a 20-yard shot.

But Morell Maison's fourth-placed side levelled when Hill, son of former England international Ricky and who signed only last Friday, kept his cool to convert an 82nd-minute penalty after Eldon Maquemba was flattened by Josh Green.

Striker Maquemba then despatched the winner three minutes later after racing through and firing home from 15 yards.

Caretaker-manager Duane Darby was brought back to earth after his winning debut as Banbury United completed a league double over Bromsgrove Rovers with a 2-0 scoreline.

The Greens had started the far better, with Kevin Banner hitting the bar, but the exit of Richard Ball with a knee injury nullified their attacking threat.

Instead, Banbury's Nicky Gordon pounced to open the scoring on 32 minutes and an own goal from Chris McHale ten minutes after the break provided a second.
