Dear Editor, On the 24th October 2009, Mark Richards and I will be running 26.2 miles in the Snowdonia Marathon to raise money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The reason we have decided to run for this charity is that when I was 21 months old, I had open heart surgery at the hospital for an atrial septal defect with partial pulmonary venous drainage.
This hospital has helped me and countless other children and this is a chance for us to give something back to an excellent charity.
We have written to the Birmingham Post to see if any kind companies or readers would be interested in sponsoring us for this event.
We have a Just Giving website page at www.justgiving.com/Alex-Clack/ whereby anyone who is interested can easily sponsor our effort.
We are currently coming to the end of week five of a fourteen week programme and are aiming to try to raise in the region of £2,000.00.
Thank you very much for publishing this letter.
