Midland firms affected by the collapse of MG Rover are being urged to attend a Ministry of Defence event to show companies how to transform their future.

The region's automotive supply chain will be offered assistance by the Defence Diversification Agency, part of the MoD, to help businesses to survive the fallout of Longbridge crisis.

In collaboration with the Accelerate programme,the Technology Opportunity Study is being rolled out.

A free breakfast seminar will be held at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry tomorrow and Gary Gould, who is leading the agency's scheme, said: "We're here to boost both the short and long-term prospects for businesses in the region."

Nick Paul, chairman of the Rover Task Force said: "I want to assure companies that we are here to support them as much as possible."
