Poice have arrested a Birmingham man on suspicion of drug offences following a tip-off by members of the public.

The man in his 20s, was arrested at a house in Douglas Road, Handsworth, following a dawn raid by officers from the Lozells and East Handsworth neighbourhood policing team.

The action came following a tip-off from members of the public.

Thirty wraps of crack cocaine and a cannabis plant were also seized.

The man, arrested on suspicion of possession with the intent to supply class-A drugs, is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Sergeant Jill Hughes, head of the Lozells and East Handsworth neighbourhood policing team, said: "If there are people dealing drugs in your neighbourhood, we need to know about it.

"We might not act immediately, but the information you provide may prove to be the final piece of intelligence we need to secure a warrant from the courts."
