Dear Editor, So, the Birmingham Half marathon could be our answer to the Great North Run. (Post, October 28) In whose dreams?

The race was shambolic. A complete farce that embarrassed the city when it should have been such a spectacle, etc.

However, all our fears are unfounded – the EDF Birmingham Half Marathon realise that a bit of “fine tuning” is required.

Fine tuning? Who are they kidding? Race day organisation (as opposed to the route, etc.) needs to start again from scratch.

Birmingham deserves better!
