A few tickets are still available for a gala dinner in Birmingham to honour Formula One commentator Murray Walker.
The black tie event next Saturday, will follow a presentation to the Hall Green-born personality who is joining Ozzy Osbourne, Noddy Holder and Jasper Carrott on the Broad Street Walk of Stars.
TV sports pundit Gary Newbon will be joining Walker at the dinner for an informal question and answer session to entertain fellow celebrities and guests.
Walker, one of the most recognisable voices in British sport, was born in 1923. He has just launched his new book, The Murray Walker Scrapbook.
Allan Sartori, marketing director of the Broad Street Business Improvement District, said: “Murray Walker is a national institution and the dinner will provide a great opportunity for guests to hear about his career first hand.
“It promises to be an entertaining evening – a real must for anyone with an interest in motor-racing and the man whose enthusiasm and knowledge of it has made him a legend.”
The dinner at the Hyatt Hotel, Broad Street, will also raise funds for the Birmingham Mail Charity Trust through ticket sales and a raffle. Tickets, priced £100 per head, are available from the BID office in Broad Street. Call Julie Amer or Caroline Ashton on 0121 693 2566 or email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
