Dear Editor, Your refreshingly honest and frank article on the future of the Post embraces what is one of the best features of the business community in Birmingham, namely that when things are tough we get together to try to sort it out.
We at Birmingham Business Focus are some of the “fanatical “ allegiance you refer to, indeed we have advocated for many years that any business person in Birmingham must read the Post – it is the glue that binds the Birmingham business community together.
The Post provides a connection and a conduit for opinion and a means to promote Birmingham. As to the future, a week is a long time in politics and a weekly version of the Post could appear stale and too magazine-like – could it be twice-weekly? Is a merger with the Mail out of the question, could the expertise and knowledge of the editorial staff be directed to seminars and conferences of local and regional interest?
Whatever the outcome, we at BBF give you our support. Yours faithfully
Chairman Birmingham Business Focus.
