Think Milan Fashion Week and Birmingham is probably not the first word that springs to mind.
But a group of jewellery designers have been chosen to show their wares at the high-profile event alongside the likes of Julien McDonald and Zandra Rhodes.
Indeed outrageous Rhodes, who is showing her work at an exhibition in Milan?s Triennale gallery alongside the ten Birmingham designers, said the city's presence showed the UK fashion scene no longer has to be London-centric.
Rhodes, who once taught fashion design at a Birmingham college, said: "These designers have done a fantastic job creating beautiful handmade pieces, now they must fight to become established."
