A Birmingham hospital is appealing for men to take part in open auditions for a new charity calendar on Saturday.

Firemen, paramedics, policemen, soldiers and any other uniformed professions are being asked to go to the aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Volunteers, who are prepared to take their tops off for charity, will be asked to pose for test shots at the hospital's Centennial Suite.

It is hoped the 2006 calendar, which will go on sale nationwide in September, will raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Pat Short, the hospital's fundraising manager, said: "If you are interested in bearing your chest in the name of charity, please come along to the Centennial Suite on March 5 and do your bit to help the children of Birmingham, the Midlands and Britain."

Anyone interested in taking part can go along between 3pm and 5pm. Those who cannot attend, contact Karen Holden on 0121 333851.
