Friends and family have paid their last respects to a Worcestershire co-pilot who died in a helicopter crash in the North Sea.
Richard Menzies, 24, was one of 16 people killed when the Super Puma went down around 15 miles from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.
His girlfriend, Katherine Botham, and sister, Laura Menzies, followed his coffin into the emotional funeral service at Worcester Cathedral.
All 14 passengers and two crew on board the helicopter were killed as it returned from a BP oil platform on April 1. Mr Menzies, of Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, was one of the youngest victims of the crash.
An initial report from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch found that the aircraft had suffered a “catastrophic failure” in its main gearbox.
That model of Super Puma, and another which crashed earlier this year with no fatalities, was grounded after the crash for inspections.
A task force has been set up to consider issues arising from the tragedy.
