A collection of souvenirs inspired by the Staffordshire Hoard has gone on sale to raise money for museums and art galleries.

The exclusive range by charity Art Fund includes whisky tumblers (£29.95 each or £50 for two), felt-backed melamine coasters (£14.95 for a set of six) and a box set of eight notecards and envelopes (£5.95).

Each item features excerpts of prose penned by historian and writer Marina Warner.

“I was incredibly thrilled when I was approached to help to create these beautiful items so that everyone can have a part of the hoard in their home,” she said.

“What’s even more wonderful is that, by buying these items, people are helping the Art Fund to save more works of art for museums and galleries.”

A successful fund-raising campaign raised the £3.3 million to keep the hoard in the West Midlands. A campaign is now under way to raise a further £2.3 million to conserve and research it.
