Only in The Birmingham Post
See tomorrow’s world today with our exclusive Birmingham Post climate change wallchart depicting one predicted view of the city of Birmingham in 2080.
The wallchart depicts a Birmingham given the dubious honour of new capital of Britain after a catastrophic flood of London.
With global warming left unchecked, the world’s major ice sheets have collapsed. The rise in sea levels has been so great that it has wiped out London as well as other low-lying cities across the globe such as New York and Tokyo.
In November 2006, The Birmingham Post launched a major six-part series putting the spotlight in the Midlands on the human challenges posed by global warming and declining fossil fuel supplies. The striking image of 'Birmingham-on-Sea' dominated the Post front page on November 23.
The poster will be given away free with the Birmingham Post on December 14th. Call 0121 234 5423 to ensure you get your copy.
