Comedian Frank Skinner has joined the great and good on Broad Street’s Walk of Stars.
Despite growing up in the Black Country near Oldbury, Skinner said he has the “Brummie credential” to get a star as he now has a flat in Harborne and was always considered more Brummie by some of his friends.
“I’ve already got the Freedom of Sandwell, so I have covered that area,” said
The ardent West Bromwich Albion fan told of the sorrow he felt when he learned the news of the death of former Baggies ace Sir Bobby Robson.
“Bobby Robson was never on Fantasy Football and I never got the chance to meet him, as I should have done. He was captain of West Bromwich Albion before my time, but he was just a real legend, like when he was England manager and England nearly won the World Cup.’’
Around 300 people were at Jongleurs comedy club at the weekend to see Frank presented with the golden star, which will be a permanent site on the pavement outside the comedy club.
