Detectives have arrested a third man on suspicion of murder of a Birmingham shopkeeper.

Detectives have arrested a third man on suspicion of murder of a Birmingham shopkeeper.

This follows an investigation into the death of 48-year-old Suppiah Tharmaseelan after an attempted robbery at the Select Convenience Store in College Road, Kingstanding, on Saturday.

The 26-year-old man was arrested this morning.

He is currently in custody helping police with their inquiries.

The arrest came as another man, John Meenan, also aged 26, of Erdington, appeared at Sutton Coldfield Magistrates Court this morning charged with murder and robbery.

Another man and woman who were arrested on the weekend have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
