Steve McClaren has resigned as Nottingham Forest manager after just three and a half months in charge, following his side's defeat to Birmingham City on Sunday.

The former England manager quit shortly after Forest were beaten 3-1 by Blues at the City Ground.

Forest had been 1-0 up before they were hit by a three goals in the last 15 minutes.

That defeat, coupled with a 5-1 hammering at Burnley on Tuesday, prompted post-match talks with Forest chairman Nigel Doughty and it was later confirmed McClaren had quit.
