A new Solihull-based television channel which only broadcasts programmes lasting less than five minutes is being launched this week.
Smartbox, a new entertainment, interactive and information channel, pilots this week in pubs and clubs across England and Wales.
A spokeswoman for the channel said: "Smartbox has been compared favourably to a modern, glossy magazine because it is a channel the viewer can dip in and out of.
"The Smartbox audience is not sat at home arguing about who should have control of the remote - they are in the pub, having drinks with friends, or out clubbing and doing other nonsitting room activities.
"Our audience demands snatches of information, blasts of entertainment and quick sells.
"For this reason no programme on Smartbox is longer than five minutes."
News bulletins, sports features, celebrity gossip, competitions, exclusive interviews, and competitions will feature on the channel alongside promotions for the venues which broadcast it.
It is also designed to act as a "blackboard' for publicans looking for a new way of advertising.
Smartbox is looking for new writers to showcase and is in consultation with the owners of many leisure venues.
The spokeswoman added: "We have received hundreds of suggestions. For instance, a few respondents suggested programmes that feature bird watching.
"We will be surveying our audience further to see if it has significant appeal."
