A pilot who died when his light aircraft crashed into a field in Warwickshire shortly after take-off has been identified by police.

Albert Street, of Crabtree Close, Bloxham, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, died on Sunday at the scene of the crash.

The 58-year-old was the sole occupant of a single-engined Piper plane which came down near the B4100 after taking off from a grass airstrip near the village of Shotteswell.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said inquiries into the cause of the crash are being conducted by experts from the Air Accident Investigation Board.
