The family of a man who died following a stabbing in Rubery have paid tribute to him.

Jonathan Crow, aged 41, from Rubery, died after being stabbed in Maple Road, Rubery, on Friday.

A statement released by his family read: "Jonathan was a much loved son and brother who will be greatly missed by all of his family.

"It is difficult for the family to comprehend why anyone would want to bring Jonathan's life to an end in such a horrific way and it will take a lifetime to come to terms with Jonathan's tragic death.

"Jonathan was always very popular and had many friends both locally and in Spain where his mother now lives. We have been touched by the many condolences we have already received."

Gary Martin Dienn, aged 25, of Bromford Drive, Birmingham, appeared before Redditch magistrates on Monday charged with murder, and has been remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday.
