A Midland MP is to help keep order among new Conservative arrivals in the Commons as a party manager.
Michael Fabricant, MP for Lichfield in Staffordshire, has been appointed a Tory whip.
His role will include guiding the 54 new Conservative MPs on Commons procedure - and making sure they vote the right way in debates.
He is one of a number of West Midland MPs to receive jobs on the Conservative front bench in Michael Howard's reshuffle of his team.
Earlier this week, Andrew Mitchell (Con Sutton Coldfield) was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for International Development, and Caroline Spelman ( Con Meridian) was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Local Government.
But senior MP Peter Luff (Con Mid Worcestershire), a former whip, has left the Conservative front bench.
