Briton Neil Entwistle was yesterday indicted in the US for allegedly shooting dead his wife and baby daughter.

A Grand Jury has decided the 27-year-old should face two charges of murder and additional counts of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition, prosecutors said.

Entwistle is accused of gunning down his wife Rachel, who used to teach in Redditch, Worcestershire, and nine-month-old daughter Lillian at their home in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, in January before fleeing to Britain.

A spokesman for the Middlesex District Attorney said he was likely to appear in court again for arraignment over the next few weeks. The spokesman said Entwistle would appear at Middlesex Superior Court at a date that had yet to be fixed.

The unemployed IT worker entered not guilty pleas to the murders at Framingham District Court last month, but the charges were then passed to a Grand Jury panel to decide whether there was a case to answer.
