Chasetown were in FA Cup dreamland last night after celebrating their biggest victory in the 51-year history.

Striker Karl Edwards became an instant hero with the 89th-minute goal to defeat Blyth Spartans and send the Scholars into the first round proper for the first time.

Last night's replay smashed the club's previous record gate with nearly 2,200 packing the ground and now they can expect an even bigger attendance when they entertain Oldham Athletic.

In a nerve-tingling finale, Edwards grabbed the decider to defeat the UniBond Premier side, who had snatched a late equaliser in Saturday's 2-2 draw, and allow Charlie Blakemore's side to join Leamington in flying the Midland Alliance flag in the first round.

Nuneaton Borough also had to endure a dramatic finale as Brian Quailey notched their last-gasp winner at Tiverton Town.

Boro had dominated possession at Ladymead but substitute Quailey grabbed the decider two minutes from time after the goalkeeper parried a Michael Frew effort. Boro now entertain Ramsgate.

Nuneaton manager Roger Ashby said: "We don't make it easy for ourselves. They are a decent side but we played some very good football, much better than Saturday's 1-1 draw."

Moor Green added to Redditch United's woes by dumping them out of the Worcestershire Senior Cup with a 2-1 scoreline at Damson Park.

Phil Trainer burst through the Reds defence to score the fifth- minute opener and Darren Middleton chased a long ball and skipped past the keeper to add a second on 53 minutes before Craig Wilding pulled a goal back.

Dean Perrow blasted a hattrick as Willenhall Town swept aside Paulton Rovers 4-1 at Noose Lane in Southern Division One West. Chad Shappard gave the hosts an eighthminute lead with a delightful volley and then Perrow struck on 11, 44 and 52 minutes.

Bedworth United defender Guy Barnett earned his side a point in their 1-1 draw at home to Bromsgrove Rovers. Mark Danks had given Rovers the lead before half-time but the Greenbacks, having been denied by former keeper Lee Evans' saves from John Douglas and Lee Moore, hit back through Barnett's cool finish 15 minutes from time.

Sutton Coldfield Town conceded three goals in the first 39 minutes as they fell to a 4-2 defeat at Swindon Supermarine. Damien Markman and Liam Hebberd suggested a comeback but a 90th-minute goal sealed their fate.

Rushall Olympic were 3-0 down even quicker as they lost 4-2 at Cinderford Town. Jody Bevan (2) and Richard Kear struck for the Foresters inside 34 minutes before Tyrone Barnett and Dave Read netted in the final ten minutes for the Pics.

It was also a night to forget for Solihull Borough who went down 4-0 at title-chasing Clevedon Town and lost Craig Dutton with a head injury which required eight stitches. Two goals in the final five minutes gave the hosts a flattering scoreline.

Halesowen Town's indifferent home form continued when they lost 2-0 to Grantham Town in the Southern Premier. Lee Glover (23) and Michael Sneddon (35) were the scorers.
