New Home Office figures have revealed a 20 per cent year-on-year increase in drug seizures throughout Warwickshire.

The force said an increase in the detection of drugs offences and the successful execution of warrants had contributed to the spike in seizures.

Detective Inspector Andy Nolan, from the Serious and Organised Crime Team, said the increase to 1,551 seizures had stopped large quantity of drugs from making their way into Warwickshire's communities and surrounding areas.
