A doctor appeared before a Crown Court judge today accused of killing a Staffordshire patient with an injection of adrenaline almost 10 years ago.
Dr Priya Ramnath, who was charged with manslaughter by gross negligence last month after returning from Texas to the UK, spoke only to confirm her name during a brief hearing at Stafford Crown Court.
The 39-year-old mother-of-two, whose address cannot be published for legal reasons, is accused of killing Patricia Leighton on July 22, 1998.
Mrs Leighton, a 51-year-old from Burntwood died while receiving treatment for a minor foot problem at Staffordshire General Hospital.
Ramnath was granted conditional bail at today's hearing and was ordered to reappear at the same court for a plea hearing on May 14
