Bournville College will be holding an apprenticeship event on Tuesday, May 29, to help employers create opportunities for engaging with the training scheme.
In these uncertain economic times, apprenticeships offer a cost-effective solution to growing a business and can make organisations more productive and competitive by addressing their skills gaps directly. Jon Middleton, Corporate Development Manager at Bournville College, commented: “The mixture of on-the-job and classroom-based learning ensures apprentices learn the skills that work best for the business, offering increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a committed and competent workforce.”
The aim of the event is to highlight the benefits of the scheme to employers, offer advice about the ways in which businesses can create apprenticeship vacancies, share examples of best practice and enable businesses to meet potential apprentices. The last apprenticeship event held earlier this year saw over 200 potential apprentices attending the event and meeting businesses looking to recruit apprentices.
Mark Linton, Managing Director of the Business Growth Show events, will be the guest speaker for the evening, sharing his experiences on setting up his business and how young people have helped to grow, market and support his organisation. Mark will also bring along an apprentice currently helping to run the Business Growth Show events to showcase how the apprenticeship has helped them.
