Birmingham software firm Delcam has agreed a deal to buy 24.9 per cent in a German engineering firm.

Delcam has agreed a memorandum of understanding with Marcam Engineering to take a stake for more than £210,000.

Last month the Post revealed Delcam, based at Small Heath Business Park, had agreed a deal with Chinese firm First Auto Works worth £500,000 over 10 years.

Delcam, which makes advanced software solutions for product development and manufacture, described Marcam as “ a leader in additive manufacturing software”.

It added: “The terms of the memorandum of understanding provide for mutual commercial collaboration, with Delcam taking a 24.9% interest in the share capital of Marcam in exchange for an investment of €250,000.”

The proposed transaction is subject to agreements being drawn up, the completion of due diligence and approval by the boards of both companies.
