Shropshire, the defending RLF North Midlands champions, have been forced to shuffle their side for this season's final group match against Greater Birmingham tonight.
With Thursday's Shropshire Cup final against Shrewsbury in mind, Bridgnorth have withdrawn their six-strong contingent of players who were on duty for last week's 27-5 win over Worcestershire & Herefordshire at Telford.
However, Shrewsbury have made their players available for county duty this week and Newport's representatives are available again after last week's play-off match.
Shropshire, who are attempting to win the competition for a third consecutive season, will qualify for the final, at Stourbridge a wek tonight, provided they do not lose by a margin of 23 points or more tonight.
Greater Birmingham have called up Moseley winger Adam Connif and Birmingham University scrum-half Ben Rowland-Jones for the match at Edwardians' Streetsbrook Road ground (7.30pm).
They have rejigged their back division to accommodate Connif, with Alex Ward moving from wing to full-back and Jon Critchlow from fullback to fly-half. In the pack, Moseley's French flanker Cedric Reynard will start at blindside in place of Alex Zarifeh (Aston OE). n North Midlands will face Cumbria at Penrith in their opening match in this season's County Championship Shield on Saturday.
North Midlands, who won the Shield last year by beating Eastern Counties in the final, are in the second tier of the restructured three-tier Championship. They will also play Durham at Stourbridge on May 14 and Oxfordshire at Chinnor on May 21 in the North qualifying group.
