A Tibetan terrier named Willy scooped the title of Best in Show at this year’s Crufts. The champion beat six other group winners at the show’s finale at Birmingham's NEC.

This year's winner, a six-year-old, whose full name is Araki Fabulous Willy, is owned by John Shaw and Neil Smith.

Mr Smith, 48, of Gloucestershire, said: "It is unbelievable. This dog has done so well. It is the biggest accolade you could ever wish for. We may have to think about retiring him now because there is nothing left for him to do."

Second place went to a one-year-old wire hair fox terrier called Peggy, from Bristol. Her handler, Richard Allen, said: "The atmosphere in the ring was electric. This win means everything."

This year’s Crufts attracted more than 25,000 dogs from all over the world. More than 143,000 visitors also flocked to the event.
