Detectives investigating a sex attack in Warwickshire have received more than 30 calls from members of the public following an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.

Officers said they were pleased with the response to their plea for information about the assault on a young girl at her home in Southam on February 9.

Detective Chief Inspector Pete Hill, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that detectives were now assessing the information and would follow up any significant leads.

DCI Hill said: "I am very pleased with the response to the appeal and would like to thank all members of the public for taking the time to call in.

"Any piece of information which helps us to identify this offender is valuable, and I would urge anyone who knows or suspects anything or individual to call us.

"This was an horrific attack on an innocent young girl and we are determined to find the offender and stop him striking again."

Anyone with information about the attacker, who may have been using a white van, is asked to contact the incident room on 01926 415761.
