Coventry City FC have signed a new five-year deal with sportswear giant Puma and its UK licensee Genesis Sports.
The kits and training wear worn by the team and the replicas worn by supporters have been supplied by PUMA for the past four years and this new extension will continue that partnership until 2015.
The Sky Blues are among a growing portfolio of clubs that have signed up with the brand and Nathan Kosky, Coventry City’s commercial director, said it was mutually beneficial.
He said: “We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with PUMA. We have enjoyed a successful partnership over the last four years with great service and product and are looking forward to an equally positive future.
“Commercially, the club has taken huge strides in the past couple of years and we are all delighted that this extremely strong partnership will continue.”
The club’s new home and away kits will be launched in June and Roger Harrison, PUMA UK marketing director, said: “We are happy to be extending our existing partnership with Coventry and confident that we will continue to achieve great exposure for PUMA throughout the West Midlands.”
Newcastle United, Cardiff City and England Rugby League are among the other sports clubs contracted to PUMA.
Russell Thomas, head of sports sponsorship for Genesis Sports, said: “We’re excited to announce the new kit agreement with Coventry City FC.
“Genesis Sports has been the club’s technical kit partner since 2003 with four years of that time in partnership with PUMA.
“We look forward to the new season and to building on the long standing relationship Genesis Sports has enjoyed with the club in the supply of the kit, training wear and accessories ranges.”
