A Midland couple is going to extraordinary lengths to secure the sale of a rural terraced cottage by offering prospective buyers a dream two-week holiday in the Caribbean.

Despite spending 20 years improving and modernising their Warwickshire retreat, which has been on the market for some months, Pierre and Phyllis Shone are struggling to find a buyer and are now throwing a fortnight stay at their luxury studio apartment in the West Indies into the deal.

The three-bed Cranhill Cottage, near Welford-on-Avon in south Warwickshire, is a 19th century Lias stone dwelling boasting a sitting room with inglenook fireplace and is priced at £325,000 by chartered surveyors and auctioneers Bigwood of Stratford.

Pierre said: “We own a studio apartment that can sleep three at the Royal West Indies Resort on Provo Island.

“It is one of the 40 Turks and Caicos Islands. Our apartment is just 100 yards from a beach recently voted one of the top 10 in the world.

“The island has shops, 23 restaurants and a number of night-spots.

“Phyllis and I think it is paradise.”

There is however one slight catch as the offer does not include air fares which start at about £550 per person.

Andrew Reed from Bigwood said: “Cranhill Cottage is a charming property worth viewing because of its character style and useful potential income from holiday lets.”
