The damp weather did not stop Worcestershire firm MPF Logistics winning the third annual Birmingham Post Corporate Golf Challenge at Blackwell yesterday.
In dismal conditions, Redditch-based MPF totalled 84 points to win by two shots from J C Rathbone.
Led by captain Gary Shingler, managing director of the Worcestershire packaging and mailing specialists, his team was made up of Gary Wright (Wright Scaffolding), Jeremy McGinn (Nigel Poole & McGinn Estate Agents) and Robert Day (Churchill Office Solutions).
The winning skipper said: "It's a fantastic event on a wonderful course. It's always a privilege to take part, so to have won it makes it even more special."
The winners will keep the cut glass crystal trophy for 12 months and also received a return ticket to New York, courtesy of Continental Airlines.
