Birmingham coroner Aidan Cotter has completed a 1,000 mile bicycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands End.
He embarked on the cycling marathon on June 18, to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital, and reached his destination on Sunday.
The 64 - year- old, aold, a self-confessed "little, fat old man", set out to raise £3,000 for a sensory trolley fitted with a glitterball, lights and sounds to entertain patients.
Mr Cotter, speaking before the charity ride, said: "I spend up to 12 hours a day sitting in my office or in court.
" This is an ideal opportunity for me to get out and about, and help the hospital in the process."
He is due to return to his desk next Friday, but anyone still wishing to sponsor the saddle-sore coroner can contact his secretary, Lynne Hart, at the Coroner's Court, in Newton Street, Birmingham.
