Continental Airlines is once again supporting the Birmingham Post Corporate Golf Challenge at Blackwell Golf Club today.
Continental, which has two daily non- stop flights between Birmingham and New York, has donated four return tickets to the Big Apple to the winning team.
The airline has teamed up with main sponsors Allied Irish Bank to ensure that the day, now in its second year, has become a flagship event in the Midlands golfing calendar.
Ursula Hammond, Area Sales Manager for Continental in Birmingham, said: "Last year's inaugural Birmingham Post Corporate Golf Challenge was a great day and one that we were delighted to support.
"We are very pleased to be able to offer the winning team four return tickets to New Yorkand hope they have fantastic time when they take up their prizes and soak up the sights in one of the world's great cities.
Birmingham Post head of sport Fraser Thompson said: "Continental Airlines' support for the Midlands business community and our readers is there for all to see.
"We are delighted to welcome them on board once again!
"The Birmingham Post readership and Continental Airlines' target market in the Midlandsare in many ways one and the same, and we welcome the opportunity to work with Continental Airlines in what is an extremely effective promotional vehicle for two such compatible brands."
Continental is celebrating eight successful years of service from Birmingham and the two daily flights give travellers not only better access to New York but also to destinations throughout the Americas via Continental's hub at Newark Liberty International Airport.
There are more than a million people living within one hour's drive of Birmingham International Airport that regularly travel to the USA by air and the launch of Continental's second daily flight in June last year was in response to strong traffic growth.
Those brave souls who today tackle the beautiful yet challenging Blackwell golf course and manage to tame it will deserve their prize flights to New York.
