US authorities would not comment on reports last night that Mr Entwistle ran a website offering what appeared to be "get-rich-quick pyramid schemes" linked to internet pornography.
According to US newspaper MetroWest Daily News , one website, millionmaker.co.uk, which since yesterday morning was unavailable, promised a profit of 6,000 dollars a month within the first six month.
The company, which was registered to a Neil Entwistle in York, claimed to offer 24-hour, seven-day-a-week support to those with adult internet businesses, the newspaper said.
Another company regis-tered to Neil Entwistle, Embedded New Technologies Limited, did not list any products or services on one of its sites but on another appeared to be selling more computerrelated products.
It was registered to an address next door to where Mrs Entwistle's mother lives in Carver, Massachusetts.
The newspaper also said a seller on internet auction site eBay, which had received numerous complaints, was the Entwistles.
One of the feedback postings read: "Rachel Entwistle is a thieving liar, do not buy here."
Another said: "Rachel Entwistle lives in Worcester 4 gods sake! Where's my goods?"
A third complained: "Complete scam. eBay users beware! Absolutely nothing received."
There were 16 complaints about non-delivery of services in January.
The newspaper said it was not clear if the sites were run by Mr Entwistle alone or with his wife.
