Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed to accept an undisclosed fee from Nottingham Forest for Sammy Clingan.

The midfielder has spent a period on loan at Chesterfield but will be travelling to the City Ground to discuss personal terms.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international, who has not played a first-team match for Wolves, would be out of contract at Molineux this summer.

Meanwhile, manager Glenn Hoddle has refused to comment on speculation that the club are on the brink of sealing a deal for Polish international striker Tomasz Frankowski.

Reports have suggested the club's chief executive, Jez Moxey, has travelled to Spain to meet with the player's club Elche. Hoddle refused to confirm whether this was the case.

The second division side appear reluctant to part with their star man but could be tempted to do so for an offer of about £2 million.
