Police are investigating a burglary at a house in Birmingham -– described by the occupants as an “attempted child abduction”.
West Midlands Police were called to the address in Latelow Road in Lea Hall, at 4am on Sunday after two children disturbed a man who entered the house through their bedroom window.
The nine-year-old girl and her brother, aged 10, alerted their mother and grandmother after waking up to find the burglar. He escaped through the window – leaving behind a ladder.
Although the incident is being treated as a burglary by West Midlands Police, the children’s grandmother Linda Ball said she believed the man planned to abduct them as he had climbed on to her granddaughter’s bed.
Their mother Kayla Barnett said she too felt it was an attempted abduction.
