One of Birmingham’s best-known bloggers is inviting the people of Birmingham to pay an unusual tribute to the city’s iconic number 11 bus.
Jon Bounds, the man behind the BiNS website, is looking for people to spend a total of 11 hours on the outer circle bus on November 11 and record their experiences on a special website elevenbus.co.uk.
People can register online and arrange to meet other participants. They can also purchase a specially designed “Does the eleven go there?” T Shirt to identify themselves when they board.
To join in with the event people need to board the 11C at 11am and get off at 10pm. People can get on and off the bus as many times as they like as long as they return within one hour. Jon Bounds said: “The eleven has always held a fascination for me, I’ve lived all over Birmingham but never further than a walk away from the route.
“The “does the eleven go there?” T shirt quote came from a friend of mine who did a lot of agency work. He always asked two questions of any job – “what are the hours?” and “does the eleven go there?”
“I am interested in creating a fitting document of our city and am hoping to get people to document their Birmingham."
