An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital after a car and lorry collided in West Bromwich today.
The crash happened at Kelvin Way shortly before 1.10pm.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service Spokeswoman said: “The driver of the car, an elderly man, was treated at the scene for chest injuries.
"He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board and, with the assistance of the fire service, the man was extricated from the vehicle.
“The man was given pain relief at the scene and airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further assessment and specialist treatment.
“No one else was injured in this incident.”
