A young woman was in hospital today after being found in a street with stab wounds.
Police said the 23-year-old was discovered by a passer-by in a road in Cannock, Staffordshire, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
She was taken to Cannock Chase Hospital and later transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where she remains in a stable condition.
Two men were arrested in connection with the incident and are helping police with their inquiries.
A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said officers were called to Wood Hayes Road in Westcroft, Cannock, just before 3am on Sunday.
The woman's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
