Burton Albion FC will be cheered on at Westminster when they face Manchester United a week today.
MPs have congratulated the Conference League side for holding the world's most popular team to a goalless draw in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
And they have wished the team a "glorious visit to Old Trafford" when they take part in the replay on their opponents' turf.
The Staffordshire side pulled off a coup when they drew 0-0 with Manchester United at their new Pirelli Stadium.
The words of praise came in a House of Commons motion, sponsored by Burton MP Janet Dean (Lab).
It was signed by 19 fellow MPs from as far afield as Dover, Yorkshire and London.
The MPs said the team had brought "joy and pride to the town of Burton-upon-Trent, usually better known for the production of beer and marmite than for football".
