Burglars were disturbed during a raid on a Warwickshire primary school, but still escaped with a number of computers, police have said.

A member of the public alerted police to the burglary at Shipston Primary School, in Station Road, Shipston-on-Stour, at around 10pm on Tuesday.

The burglars are thought to have tried to break in through a window at the front of the school before they forced a door to gain entry.

They removed a number of flat screen Apple iMac computers with white slim line keyboards and put them in a van parked at the front of the school.

However, they dropped a number of computer mouses in the school's hallway during their hasty exit. They drove off in a van in the direction of Banbury.
