Birmingham’s Bullring Indoor Market will be closed tomorrow after environmental health officers discovered a mouse and cockroach infestation.

The market will close for a day-long deep clean of the site. It is expected to open for business as usual on Wednesday.

A statement by Birmingham City Council read: "The action is being taken by environmental health and pest control officers as a preventative measure after signs of mouse and cockroach activity were identified at the site earlier today.

"Market traders have been consulted and are fully co-operating with the action."

The Bullring Outdoor Market, RAG Market, and Wholesale Market are all unaffected and will open on Tuesday as normal.
