Birmingham manager Steve Bruce has been fined #1,500 by a Football Association Disciplinary Commission and warned as to his future conduct.

Bruce had admitted a charge of improper conduct towards doping control officials in relation to an incident after the game which Blues won 1-0 at Plymouth on Saturday, November 4.

But, in a personal hearing at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham today, Bruce said his comments came only after officials disturbed him in the technical area while the match was still under way.

Bruce said: "We were winning but under pressure late in the game and defending for our lives.

"The next thing I know an official is in the technical area telling me which players he wants to test after the game.

"I was not very pleased to see him there."

Meanwhile, Leeds manager Dennis Wise was fined #4,000 and handed a suspended one-match ban by the FA for improper conduct during the match against West Brom in January.

Wise denied the charge but his defence was unsuccessful when he appeared in person before the FA disciplinary panel in Birmingham.

The charge related to an incident at Elland Road on January 20 when the former Chelsea midfielder was red-carded during his side’s 3-2 defeat to West Albion.

Referee Nigel Swarbrick sent Wise to the stands after the Leeds boss had pushed Albion's Diomansy Kamara off the pitch.

Wise later confirmed he was angry with the West Brom striker for the slow manner in which he left the field after being substituted.
