Dear Editor, There are reports of CAMRA joining forces with the British Beer and Pub Association to try to persuade the Government to drop its plans for increasing the duty on beer.
These organisations seem to think that it is only VAT and other duty that is the cause for the demise of the British pub.
Have these organisations ever stopped to think that it is not only the Government that imposes unjustified price increases?
It is almost guaranteed that just prior to any Budget, the breweries themselves will increase their prices.
I fail to see how these pressure groups can campaign against the Government whilst, at the same time, ignoring the breweries.
