A boy of 15 will appear before magistrates today after being charged with four sex offences, including raping an 11-year-old girl in the toilets of a busy supermarket.

The teenager was arrested on Wednesday by detectives investigating the sex attack on the girl at Sainsbury's super-market on the Shires Retail Park in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, on March 2.

A Warwickshire Police spokeswoman said the teenager had also been charged with three counts of indecent assault and one of commercial burglary. He is due to appear at Leamington Spa Youth Court today.

Detectives had been given until 10pm on Saturday to question the youth, who was arrested in Leamington Spa last Wednesday night.

Police announced over the weekend that the youth in custody had also been arrested in connection with indecent assaults in the area.
