Body found in river near Pershore

A police investigation has been launched following the discovery of a body in a river in Worcestershire.

Officers from West Mercia Constabulary were called to a bridge over the River Avon on Saturday. A spokesman said: “West Mercia Police attended the area of Jubilee Bridge, Fladbury, near Pershore. The body has been recovered from the river and identification procedures are being undertaken.”
